Clients oftentimes ask about jade rolling and although it’s been trending as of late, this practice has been around for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

If you’re using one at home, keep in mind that technique is very important. Make sure you use it over cleansed skin, and over a skin-specific serum. Don’t use too much pressure if you have sensitive skin (not recommended for acneic skin types as it will spread bacteria.)

I like to start at the neck and move upwards to the jawline, then the cheeks with the large oval side, you can do multiple passes on both sides of your face and continue to move up to the forehead across toward your temples, then from the brows upward to the hairline multiple passes on both eyebrows. Lastly, the eyes with the small oval very gently from the inner corners to the outer corners.

It’s recommended to sanitize facial rollers in between uses. And also keep in mind that not all rollers are authentic as some stones are chemically polished and dyed to resemble the semi precious stones that rollers are typically made of.

Jade rolling can be relaxing, promote blood circulation, reduce puffiness and stimulate lymphatic drainage making it a good home care practice; but nothing replaces the therapeutic benefits of a deep tissue hands on treatment that will target your specific skin concerns/condition and promote skin wellness and relaxation.
